As is the case with most car manufacturers these days, Audi’s also got its range of safety features under the branding of Pre Sense. These are usually collision detection systems that do stuff like closing your sunroof, turning on the hazard lights, and in some cases even braking before the impact to minimize it. Side impact, however, is a new addition to the arsenal of safety features that uses a cross-traffic warning system to track the movements of other cars, people, or cyclists. What sets it apart from everything else, though, is the fact that it can actually raise the air suspension of the car by like three inches when it detects an approaching vehicle. As a result, this slight movement redirects the collision forces to stronger areas of the body structure, keeping you safe and protected.

Let’s face it, augmented reality is the future as it shows us crucial information while also keeping us grounded in the real world. Now, there are a ton of use cases for when it comes to cars, but Hyundai’s might just take the cake. To get rid of tediously long car manuals that, quite frankly, most people don’t even read, they’ve developed an app that identifies and provides how-to information on a ton of your car features. So, for instance, if you want to know more about your car’s warning indicators, all you’ve got to do is point your in-app camera at the indicators, and boom, it’ll present all the information that you’ll ever need. Also, the great thing about it is that it’s not limited to basic features, as you can also scan other stuff like the car’s fuse box and brake fluid.

All right, we know how innovative and cool self-driving is, but when other cars on the road don’t have the same tech, then you can’t really get rid of traffic issues, can you? Well, to create the perfect utopian traffic, Mercedes has come up with a brilliant plan to cooperate with other car makers like BMW, Ford, and Volvo to create a communication system between road vehicles called Car to X Communication. So what this means is that every car on the road will have a transmitter and receiver. If there’s a collision or a traffic management center sends out a signal, all cars heading in that direction will get the warning in advance, so you can either avoid that blockage or prepare yourself for it.

Putting stuff on top of your car isn’t anything new, but most modern solutions aren’t exactly what you’d call elegant either. Thule’s roof box, however, brings both form and function to the mix with its modern design and easy mounting. For starters, this guy comes in different sizes and can fit pretty much any car in existence. On top of that, you get full trunk access with zero contact, thanks to its forward position. Plus, it’s got its own torque indicator that tells you whether it’s mounted properly or not, which in and of itself is really easy. Last but not least, you can even open and access the container from both sides of the car. Seriously, this bad boy is super efficient.

Car makers are always striving to achieve that perfect level of comfort in their cars, but you rarely ever see any of them consider features for disabled people. Fret not, though, as AET Conversions is on the case, and they’ve developed a pretty nifty mechanism that lets anyone with a wheelchair climb into a truck or SUV with ease. Basically, they’ve modded the car doors to open together and upwards like a trunk, which allows the special wheelchair seat to glide right onto the ground. Then anyone can easily hop onto the car seat from their wheelchair and then slide back in with absolutely zero effort.

If you own a truck and don’t lug around massive wooden logs on it with a deck drawer system, though, you can completely change the bed of your truck and unleash your inner Marie Kondo. Plus, you’re not limited to a single design either, as there are tons of options to choose from. For instance, you’ve got sliding mechanisms for drawers, a massive top tray, and even a deep tub with ladder access. So whether you’re hauling electrical equipment, gardening stuff, or literally anything else, this drawer system’s got you covered.

We’ve seen modern cars with automatic parking features, like a Tesla driving itself into a spot. What we haven’t seen, however, is actual automated parking, including the part where you have to actually look for space. With Mercedes’ new automated parking tech, though, you’ve got an AI valet right inside your car. So if you’ve reserved a space for your car via an app, it’ll know and automatically park the car there for you. Or, if there are no spots available, then it’s also capable of waiting and taking up a spot.

Since you’d already be out of the car, more cars can pack themselves into a parking facility because, well, you don’t need to open or close doors anymore. Oh, and of course, it’s still got the whole summon-your-car-to-yourself thingy too. Like, seriously, imagine not having to ever worry about parking space. Incredible.
